Donkeys on the beach at Skegness

Sandy beaches run up the Lincolnshire coast the entire way from Skegness to Cleethorpes, the two major resorts. Smaller resorts are to be found at Mabelthorpe and Chapel St Leonards. For those who seek solitude, and wish to avoid the conventional attractions of seaside towns, a number of parking areas have been provided along the coast. Typically these are situated behind the gorse covered bank which forms the sea wall. Once over the bank the solitary visitor is confronted with a wide sandy beach which stretches as far as the eye can see.
